Warmoth VS. Fender pickguards.

I was wanting to order a H-H pickguard for my strat, but I am having a hard time finding the Fender brand H-H pickguard in the color I want. I was thinking of going with a Warmoth. Are the specs between the companies the same?

Someone told me the bridge pickup on the Warmoth was closer to the bridge than the Fender.

thanks.

Nothing to worry about! The only difference IMO is the Warmoth is a whole lot cheaper!

Re: Warmoth VS. Fender pickguards.

The bridge pickup is definitely in the proper position from Warmoth... I have ordered several from them recently.

Re: Warmoth VS. Fender pickguards.

When ordering a replacement pickguard, pay particular attention to the location of screw hole #5. This is the only hole that varies in location. Specify the pattern you want when ordering.

The 8-hole conversion model has the basic 8-hole look, but #5 is in the newer ('59 and later) positions. No "new" holes are required when changing an 11-hole pickguard to an 8-hole conversion model.

i've had literally 15+ guards from warmoth over the years...never a single problem!!

Warmoth pickguards fit right. More options than Fender and cheaper. Go for it!

I bought many!

But there are two small details. I honestly don't care but you might:

1. The lower horn side of warmoth pickguards are cut sharper than fender's. I mean fender pickguards are rounder there.

2. Fenders' are covered everywhere on the back of the guard with an ally layer, whereas warmoth's aren't. They are covered for most of the part, but still it's a difference.

I could take some pics if you guys are interested. Lemme know.

Best,

B

I love the options they provide, but I hate the fact that I'll have to pay duty if I order something from them. Do any of you know if there's a shop in Canada like these guys? I want to get a new guard for my Charvel but I'd rather not give the government any more money than I already do.
