I'm a guitar player and I want to buy a bass. I have found a Warwick 92' Corvette bass a very good price, but I don't know anything about bass brands.
What are your experiences with Warwick basses?
any help would be appreciate.

Re: Warwick 92' corvette?

Warwicks are great basses. I wish I had one. I'd jump all on it if it's in good shape.

There was a guy that used to rehearse at the same rehearsal space as us years ago. He played Warwicks and Spectors. He always sounded great. I played his quite a few times and it was awesome.

Great stuff. Very high quality products. A friend of mine worked for them around that time.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! though they stray from my traditionalist bass beliefs, they are solid guitars.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

Good enough for Jack Bruce. 'Nuff said.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

What about Cavin basses? Are they good?

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

I've owned both Warwick and Carvin basses. By any metric I can think of, the Warwick was superior.

^ Would you pay $800 usd for a Warwick Corvette Proline?

I was planning to get a 5 strings, but I would be better with 4 strings instead.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

The Warwicks, at least of the time period, are handmade in Germany from specifically selected woods. Not saying Carvins must be inferior just because of how things are made but for many players this plays a role, and you can probably notice it easily when handling the instrument.

I have a thumb and I love the neck and how it feels......... and the nice growling tone.
They are made in Germany and your model was discontinued.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

the bass's owner puts a silver cross on the neck. It looks nice but it reduces the price of the instrument... don't you think so?

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

apart of the silver crux in the neck, I discovered the body's wood has a small crack... damn it.
back to my bass search again.

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

Ohhhh, I might be interested in the cracked thingie if the price is adjusted accordingly.

Or is this in Denmark?

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

Bummer......the cross wouldn't concern me as much as the crack in the neck......The cross gives it character. I fell into my 4 string Thumb BO with warwick HS case for $850.00 on Ebay......But that was a few years back.......Good luck on your hunt, be patient something good will come your way!

Re: Warwick 92' Corvette Bass?

Can anyone tell me what a 95 wawick corvette proline fretless black with duncans is worth?
