Washburn Semi-Hollows

Please, tell me how they are.

I don't know what model it is, but there's a 335 looking thing at the local shop for good money and I'm very interested in it. I'll be back in there to play it in a couple days.

note: I thought the body looked a little (too) thin.

Thanks

335's are thin.

I knew a jazz nerd who went to school for music and he loved his Washburns.

I have always been impressed by their acoustics, but that jazz guy I knew swore by Washburn semi-hollows, and it really stood out in my mind.

Re: Washburn Semi-Hollows

I played a couple of them a year or two ago. I was REALLY impressed with the quality and playability, especially for a mid-priced guitar. I believe the one I yearned to take home was an HB 32.

Re: Washburn Semi-Hollows

i like them but i can't dig a bolt-neck on a jazz box. i'm thinkin of picking up an epiphone dot or casino...

Re: Washburn Semi-Hollows

I had a HB-32. Very nice guitar. Felt great, played great. My only criticism was t he pickups were a bit brittle, but they were completely usable

Re: Washburn Semi-Hollows

Well I figured out that it's the HB30. I played it and developed big time GAS for it. I've went to the shop to play it two days in a row now. It's the first semi-hollow I've played, so I may be a little awestruck with it for that reason and that reason only. IMO, it's a really good guitar though. I think a semi-hollow has the warm tone I've been seeking that I can't seem to get even with Seth Lovers in my LP. That HB30 isn't a bolt-on and it has the block in it. I have to ask though, why is the neck humongous? It was a little challenging to play in that aspect.
