Wax Potted Seth Lover??

Re: Wax Potted Seth Lover??

if ordered/bought(unless otherwise specified) with a cover it is a crap shoot i heard? you may get zebra, black, white or double cream. best bet is to special order one without cover (floor shop custom?)

I found out that I can order it with or w/o the cover. I can also pay extra to have it w 4 conductor wires. I can also get it with or w/o Duncan's logo stamped on it. I will be ordering mine today, but so many options....

Re: Wax Potted Seth Lover??

I've played both a potted and an unpotted Seth in the bridge. I don't remember any distinct differences in tone, but I sure like the lack of feedback with the potted Seth! I have an older APH-1 wound by MJ that I still need to install so I can compare it to the Seth.

Re: Wax Potted Seth Lover??

I placed an order for a Seth neck pu in black w/o the Seymour Duncan logo on it. I didn't get it w/4 conductor wiring. This is going in the neck of a HSH Kramer w/Floyd Rose, when it gets here. I already received my 59/c hybrid, and did a mag swap to an UOA5, which will be going in the bridge. The middle will be a Van Zandt vintage plus RWRP pu. Like Lt. Kojak & Blueman, I play mostly British Blues (Zeppelin, Clapton, Blackmore) and like Ed, I play a bit of Van Halen. So I think, between this guitar and my Strat, I have all my bases covered. And the sound wouldn't be complete if it wasn't run through a cranked Marshall 100 Super Lead.

Re: Wax Potted Seth Lover??

I have many guitars, and one has Seths--gold covers in a chambered 2005 Les Paul Supreme. I use Mesa Boogie amps, mostly a Mark IV, in a G/K/B/D cover band doing blues, classic rock, country rock, jazz, and oldies. I don't do metal, or heavy gain. We don't usually play at high volume.

I have had feedback from the Seths, but when they do feed back, it is always musical and controllable.

Great pickup.

Bill
