I like it. I think it's most useful if you're still playing at a moderate volume.
If I set it to 2 or so and use it to bring a cranked 50 watt amp down to bedroom levels then the tone is kind of grainy and unappealing.
But if a guy had a 50 watt amp and it was just a little to loud for the gig and he wanted to bring the amp's volume down just a bit then it produces a really nice tone that can be quite good.
I think that's what it does best.
IMO, it's not for taking a 50 watt or 100 watt Marshall, cranking the amp to 8 or 10 and then turning the Mass down to next to nothing. It'll do that but that does not produce a very appealing tone, IMO.

Comes in handy if you want to exoeriment with differant speaker ohmages. Does'nt suck out any tone unless you use an extreame amount of attenuation. In case you did'nt know there's a switch for Bypass and Normal. When switched to normal the attenuator kicks in right away and your signal is instantley cut by about 1/4 which may or may not work for some people but for me it works fine. You can then cut the signal further by rotating the volume knob counter-clockwise from 10 on down. The only other attenuator I tried was a THD Hotplate but with my amp it did'nt work very well. Too much compression on the bass, even with the deep switch activated. No problems with the Weber. Hope this helped.
