The grey pedal is a Plexitone with a different clipping section... The Muff is currently unplugged due to a defficient batter clip and me not having any of my tools and electronics around...<_< And of course all that free space on the...erm.. 'board' will have to be filled. The footswitch works fine with the amp and switches gain and reverb. The cables are two Kloz and an Ernie Ball one. The SD1 will get modded... And I need more drive.

The Red guitar is a Charvel model 1a (with three singles originally) and with a model 4's neck. FullShred with Alnico 8, CoolRails and Alnico 2 Pro single. The toggle brings in the neck pickup and the two volumes are for neck and bridge pickups. I did the nut myself. She also has a set of graphtech saddles.

The blue one is a model 4. The pickup is a Duncan Distortion. The lowest switch is on/off/on straight to output. The two knobs are volume and tone. The middle switch is a split. The topmost ones don't do jack :D

EDIT: Ok... well nothing shows. I had to take these with a webcam as I have no digicam. Ah well. The accoustic is an Ibanez with a solid Spruce top and a preamp. I got it for free. It's a pretty good one at that!

Aha!!! I've got a Q for you, how would you compare V30 vs. Man o wars??? which has the best combo of violinish mids openness/tight defined agressive low end like you know for a lot of palm mut work? thanks.

Pierre, we need to see the rest of your aney line up, even if its out of commision now, come on now. :1:

That's a good question.

Those speakers are pretty different. The Governors are supposed to be Eminence's version of the V30. They're pretty close, but I think the V30s might be a little more open-sounding - looser - and the Governors have a bit less of that sometimes-piercing upper-mid spike in the freq. response that V30s do.

With that in mind, I can construct a pretty good side-by-side analysis of the differences between V30s and Man O Wars since I have both Governors and Man O Wars in the same cab.

The Man O Wars are definitely more balanced, tonally. They have what I perceive to be more, deeper bass and more extended high-end with less emphasis on the upper midrange. Depending on the amp and cab this could be good or bad - if you amp head tends toward more buzzy/fizzy gain, the Man O Wars could accentuate it and make it worse. If you have an amp that has NO fizz and a nice powerful midrange body (like a Splawn) these speakers are wonderful and will produce a smooth, powerful sound that holds together great for chugging palm mutes and doesn't get lost in a mix.

V30s are going to cut better in a live mix since they've got such a peak in the upper midrange frequencies, but in a smaller cab with something like a Marshall JCM 900 or Laney, it's going to be ice-pick hell on your ears. Of course for recording or live shows, if your rig has V30s and is mic'd with an SM57, those problems will probably correct themselves. For some reason V30s love to be mic'd by SM57s and almost always record well in those situations.

So I guess in the end it really depends on what you have, and what you want from your rig. If your amp and cab tend to be bassy/muddy and you want to clear it up, use V30s. If it's more spikey and middy and you want some more chunk and body, try the Man O Wars. If it's already nicely balanced and you want to upgrade, try a blend of both - I love the combination in a single 4x12 cab.

Thank you, would you say that Manowars are a bit scooped? I have my spina TS on all the time, do you think 4 V30 in my JCM900 cab will get really ice picky with laney pushed really hard? Thanks again. Sorry Pierre, post your AOR combo.

The Man O Wars can sound a bit scooped, but it's easy to compensate for that.

4 V30s in a JCM 900 cab with a dimed laney could shoot icepick lasers through a semi truck, I'd wager...

Re: Wee a cool conceited thread: My rig of dewwwwwmmm!!11one

I don't have my other Laney right now. Half my stuff is in a warehouse downtown and I can't access it...

Re: Wee a cool conceited thread: My rig of dewwwwwmmm!!11one

A Frenchman conceited, surely you jest?

Re: Wee a cool conceited thread: My rig of dewwwwwmmm!!11one

I'm not conceited. You just get that impression because I'm awesome and better than you.
