Weeping Demon Wah problem

Hi...as I mentioned in another thread, I recently got an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah. Today I finally got to plug it in and try it.

This is the first time I've ever had a problem with something off eBay, so I guess I was due.

Anyone with experience or knowledge, I'd like to tap into your brain please....

Here is the problem, and it doesn't matter if it is in the pedal chain or standalone between the guitar and amp, same problem either way.
No sound when its on bypass. When I push the pedal (in auto wah mode) the light comes on, and I get good sound. The wah effect works, and the adjustment knobs do change the sound. I let the pedal spring back, and sound stops after about 1/2 second. Also, when I flip the switch on the side that allows me to set the pedal and forget it, I also get no sound.

I'm guessing its a wiring issue in the bypass, but I really have no idea. Thoughts? Solutions? I got it for a pretty reasonable price so I don't mind fixing it, and I do know how to use a soldering iron.

Problem seems solved for the moment.

Loose wire where the power adapter jack goes in

I was thinking of using a Chev 350 small block, but then the 427ci LS7 came available, so I just had to drop it in with a 6 speed and a Ford 9 inch rear end.
Actually, its a 9v rig, negative center, so it just plugs into the same power supply I use for the rest of the board using the standard plugs. Its not a high draw, but I have it on the 500mA output anyway. (the 100s are all full!)

Actually, I like it a lot! Takes some getting used to, but it sure hides a lot of sins! (not necessarily a good thing.)

I haven't experimented a whole lot yet, but what I have done is super cool.
I assume it goes first on my pedal board? Then ODs, then Distortion, then modulation/chorus/delay?
At least, that's how I have it right now.

I could record a clip, but be warned....I'm still a beginner and not overly solid yet. (My chops are still pork! LOL)

You know - I just ran into a problem with mine where it nearly kills all the signal. NOT cool in the middle of a tune (Sweet Child!) or anywhere during the gig for that matter....

Gotta check for loose stuff....

If it uses a film strip type of thing instead of a toothed rod like the Crybaby, then the optical sensor may just need to be cleaned, or the strip may be wandering somehow. I bought an X-15 Ultrafoot off Ebay a few years back for like $50 (when everyone else was getting $100+ for them) because the treadles didn't work. Figured it'd be an easy fix - replace the pot or a loose wire, etc. Turned out both film strips had been pulled out of the slots. Popped them back in and it was like-new.

Well there's your problem right there. It was prolly just sick of it
