Weird out of phasiness

Soldered a Jazzbucker into the neck position of my Squier Super-Sonic recently. I think I got too stoned from the solder, because I ended up messing the whole deal up. I even screwed up the bridge JB that has been in place for six years.

So...I took it to my local luthier, I pay up, he says it's all good. But it's not.

I get home and plug in and whenever I switched pickup positions (3-way toggle), the volume jumped down and kind of ramped up as I strummed.

A few days later and through a different amp, it's not so much that problem as this: when I strum really hard in bridge position, then switch to the neck, it goes out of phase and quiet until I strum hard.

Now... I presume my luthier wouldn't bull**** me. He's a good guy. When I tried to solder the neck pup in, it looked like I burned the pot a little bit.

AND HERE'S THE KICKER...
the toggle switch has been fuzzy since before the neck pup transplant...it's the cheap stock Squier box style switch.

Do ya'll think a fresh Switchcraft toggle will do the trick? Or do I have a burned out pot that my luthier did not catch?

Those cheap switches are absolute sh1te. Frankly, I am surprised that your otherwise good luthier did not advise changing the selector switch while your guitar was on the bench.

maybe I'll just treat the Squier right and set her up with 2 new pots and a Switchcraft toggle. Then a little ways down the road I need to put locking tuners on there (the pressed vintage set are starting to lose their press after 13 years).

+1. Those switches are absolutely terrible!

Re: Weird out of phasiness

Sounds like you burned the pot. It can happen very easily with Alphas or any cheaper pot.
