I've got a custom one piece recurve bow I bought about a year and a half ago. Thought I would get back into archery but never found the time or inclination (I used to be in the archery/hunting industry as well as archery competition).
It's a one piece Checkmate Atilla recurve (right handed). I'll post some pics soon, but for now here is something for you to get an idea (think old 1950s Bear brand recurves) Linky
It's 56" tip to tip, with a Zebrawood riser (handle section), and Black Locust limbs. It has only been strung one time, and NEVER been shot. Basically brand new. It did get a small ding on the riser during shipping. But the thing needs a leather/suede handlewrap anyways (they do not come with them), so you'll never see it. It's very smooth, and IIRC it's 45 pounds pull at 28 inches of draw length (I'll take a looksee in the next day or two to confirm).
I've got a bunch of brand new accessories including shooting glove, stringer, I may have a brand new leather 2 piece quiver for it....I've alos got a dozen Beman Carbon Arrow shafts and components (with heavy brass inserts for hunting). They are just raw unfinished shafts though. They would need to be cut, fletched and inserts installed. I no longer have my fletching jigs and arrow saw to complete the arrows but any local archery shop in your area could get ya measured up, fletched, and set up if you do not have the know-how (DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT A HIGH SPEED ARROW SAW ON CARBON SHAFTS! And wear a mask...the carbon dust is like abestos). The Beamn shafts I have are properly spined for the bows weight assuming a 26-29" or so draw length. With the brass inserts, they would make a great hunting shaft due to extra weight and the small diameter.
I've got to see exactly all the accessories I have for it, before I can give a "final" asking price, but I know I've got at least $100 in brand new everything else along with the bow which as you see is $280 on the webpage. I'd prolly be asking around $300 plus shipping for it all.
P.S. Don't let Checkmates prices fool you. These are really nice handcrafted USA made bows at extremely good prices...they are not cheap import crap from Samick or similar (like what PSE and others sell), and are much nicer than production models from Martin and Bear .Go over to www. Huntingnet.com and register for the forums if you have any questions about Checkmate. Great bunch of guys over there, and most of them I'm sure still remember/know me (I had the same handle over there as I do here) Check out the bowhunting/traditional archery forums.
Anyhoo...if you have any clue as to what I'm rambling about and are interested, LMK. Thanks
