well heres a cool one from gibson- 7 string explorer

Re: well heres a cool one from gibson- 7 string explorer

With all the Ibanez, ESPs and Agiles you can get and luthiers you can go to that could make a 7 string Explorer cheaper than the Gibson, it's not really an issue to 7 string players that know what they want anyway.

Ah yes of course. In the end all it means is that Gibson may have missed a trick by not going for a longer scale. Not my problem anyway since I struggle enough with 6 strings ;)

If I can afford one, I am getting it...

I love the Gibson Scale for tuning down... something about the sponge and flop I dig... I do wish it had ebony fretboard though... my gothic has that and it is for sure a bit brighter than my buddies rose wood... really has a twang to some notes... kewl stuff.

^^ same here. i love my SG tuned to C standard with .13-.68's on it...no reason this Explorer wouldn't be cool.

I would have liked an Ebony board too (duh) and if it's gibson scale then it's just stupid (don't wanna go 27? at least 25.5 is a must) but I don't get what's wrong with the shape.

I actually think it looks great. The shape looks identical to the 6-stringers which is what was the idea in the first place.
