Well, it's finally finished

Re: Well, it's finally finished

^^
I have never heard such a bright neck pickup as the RCA4SH-6n that I have in the neck of this thing. It really seems to jibe with the wood and finish of this axe. The split sounds that I get out of the Triple Shots are fantastic. I'll have to record a sound track post haste.
The TB-15 Alternative 8 is HUGE and dark, with just the right amount of top. Running clean in single coil (screw coil) mode is something to be heard. Yes, once again, I'll work on sound clips.

Lol, I have discovered why I thought it sounded so bright. I've got the three way switch wired up backwards so that it points towards the opposite pickup that is on. However, it makes me realize that the neck pickup, which I at first thought was the bridge, is huge and dark, but with plenty of bite on the top, and very responsive to the tone knob. It gives an excellent clean tone, and still stays clear under heavy gain.
The Alternative 8 in the bridge is incredible. Pinch is a cinch.

Not sure, it didn't seem as bright in the agathis body, but now it is really clear and chimey. It might be too bright with a maple neck and maple fretboard, but then you could always put a UOA5 in it or an A2.

Given my recent discovery as to having reverse wired the three way switch, I would say that it would do just fine in basswood with maple/maple. It gives a nice even response, though it has quite a hot wind for a neck pickup. Cleans up superbly. Gives quite the classic clean jazz neck tone.

Ok, though it's been months in the making, here is an actual sound clip of the beast. Not going to claim it's coherent or good, but it does show off the sounds of the axe, along with my shortcomings as a player, especially on a Friday night after a few beers.
But here it is nevertheless
