Well just swapped the Alt 8 in my Dc 127 for a Hybrid and--

I'm torn here. Made absolute sense to do it being I use this guitar in settings where I needed more versatility and warmth. The overall tonal and output balance of the Hybrid with the Sentient in the neck is really really nice.
However really miss that harmonically explosive aggressive but still sweet Alt 8 tone for heavier stuff and singing solos!! The Hybrid kinda sounds meh and lifeless at high gain in comparison. Have to find it a HOME for the Alt 8 with a Sentient in the neck in something and quick! Thinking PINKY might be a prime candidate!

Both pickups absolutely KILL with the sentient in the neck but what a different vibe they have!!
Will say this Hybrid and Sentient tone run together and split is just jaw dropping good as are both together in full humbucker. Those 2 pickups are a GREAT tonal match for warm sweet tones that have some attitude!!

I bet the congregation loves it too!

LOL this one hasn't seen her stage is pretty tight so haven't pulled her out there. Last couple though saw it a lot . In fact if I didn't pull it out from time to time folk would ask where the pink guitar was! Owned her since the 90's guitar is super light and plays like a dream + sounds good unplugged but the stock M22 Carvins are a little lacking. Have been reluctant to mod her because it' s such a rare guitar and these bring some pretty good $ but now that Keisel has reissued them--.

After running a Hybrid in both the bolt on neck Modern Player Pine body Tele and the neck through KOA DC 127 am surprised just how different it sounds in each. All pickups will sound different in a different guitar to some extent but the Hybrid seems to pick up more of the character of the individual guitar and woods than most.
In the Pine body Tele with the bolt on maple neck it's very spanky and clear a little on the bright side.
Drop it in the KOA Carvin and its big round warm and a bit on the dark side.
This pickup expresses the actual character of the guitar it's in tone wise more than any pickup I have ever used.
