Got this instead. Been wanting one for a while. Went to get a tuner pedal, and the only one they had was a mini Polytune 2.

It was toss up between the OCD and the Tumnus, and the wife went wide eyed when she saw the price of the Tumnus, so I went easy on her. Good thing they didn’t have the D&M Drive, there would’ve been no being easy about it.

Not having an OR-15 there, I played it through an Orange CR120 on the clean and dirty channels, I liked what I heard, and that’s all it took. I have played one there through a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue before, so I know It’ll be great with that amp.

I guess my Snark pedal will have to stay on the board for the time being.

What you do is show her your favorite pedals -the Chase Bliss Thermae, Strymon Big SKy, Keely Workstation and Klon KTRs for several weeks online then take her to the GC and act real excited by the surprise of the Tumnus and OCD on super sale and then she'll be sooooo stoked for you take both of those home for half of the money of those pedals you told her were your hearts desire

I had one of those. Great pedal. I think it would benefit greatly from having a separate treble and bass knob but otherwise, it's a solid overdrive. One of the best out there, IMO/IME.

I got a few GC gift cards so I think I'm going to get a TC MojoMojo with one of them. There's not many overdrives I care for these days but I like the demos I hear of it and if it's good enough for Paul Gilbert, it's good enough for me. I haven't owned an overdrive pedal in over a year. Been using what's in the amp (which is great on its own) but I think the MojoMojo will allow me to dial the amp back on both channels and give more of a 4-channel setup vs. 2.

I have no problem with Joyo pedals. I dig my Vintage overdrive. I have A/B’d the Ultimate and the OCD before, I thought the Ultimate was just a little harsher in the top end. Not that it was bad, I just thought the OCD was a little smoother.

There’s a few revisions of the OCD. I think this is the second one. I generally don’t care for them. Something about the midrange. But this was cheap and I was going to mod it if needed.

This had that harsh thing going on. I went in and removed the germanium diode that’s in series with one of the MOSFETs. It’s supposed to make the clipping asymmetrical, but it just stops that MOSFET from clipping as much. So you get this weird cleanish signal mixed it.

Without the GE diode the distortion is nice and smooth.

I also bridged a resistor across the gain control to lower the gain. It went from distortion to fuzz. Now I can get it down to a little breakup.

These mods also work on the OCD.

Don't forget -Still think you could have come home with both AND your wife happy.

So start prepping now -go ahead and start telling her you are really into the KLONs, Chase Bliss, and Strymons.

Make her think most good all pedals are north of 400 or 500.00 dollars.

Then she feels you are making a sacrifice by only spending 200 or 300 on multiple cheaper pedals

I like how touch-sensitive it is. I wish I had a dollar for every pedal that claimed to provide the sound and feel of “a real tube amp,” but this thing... this thing is driving the big brown truck.
