What 15 to 30 watt Tube Amp for LP Blues?

Re: What 15 to 30 watt Tube Amp for LP Blues?

I've never heard the Blues or Pro Jr. in person, but I had a Hot Rod Deluxe that sounded really good with my LP. Everyone raves about the BJ, so I would have to assume it rules.

I actually saw a mesa boogie subway blues on Ebay the other day. I didn't see on in your gear Capo- what is your opinion of it?
Gotta check all your other stuff out fellas. Any more on low watt tube amps would be helpful too.

Thanks!

I never owned one, but a buddy of mine did and man for blues that was an incredible sounding amp! Opened up just a little more than a Blues Jr. does and had a richer tone. I just really liked the overall tone of it. Lately I use my Super Reverb for blues stuff, but you didn't ask for something that big or high wattage. :)

Ya know I was playin on it last night and boy the Jr does ROCK! Guess I'd like to spice things up with something a lil differink! Im trying to build my gear collection across the tone spectrum of all the guitars I've heard and loved over the years. From American single coil to British HBs and in between. Whats really funny is I'm not that great of a player. I Just love Guitars and Amps in all thier wonderful tonal differences. Kind of like when you hear a girl speak with a sexy foriegn accent. They just draw you hither with the way they express themselves.
Ya know what I'm sayin'?

Those 60's Univox/Lafayette amps are kinda cool---I have had a few of these and they get into Supro territory when cranked up. About 15-18 watts, Jensen ceramic C12Q, tremolo, solid wood cab. With my LP, it gets a very cool clean tone, lots of bottom for a small amp. Some of the tubes are getting a little scarce for those amps though...6BM8's, some kinda Japanese TV tube.

The tone knob on that Pro Jr. can just toss the sparkle right in there or dark it up in a good way. That plus the way it distorts across the range of the volume, you can get a ton of great sounds! with an LP, of course!

Tweed Deluxe, Champ, DRRI, Tiny Terror, Epi Jr., all kinds of options.

Be sure to let us know if you get it

Be sure to consider selling it to me if you tired of it.

Peavey released the JS Mini-Collossal this month.

Then there is always the Celtic Franklin:
