What a find!

I picked up a 1979 Flying V that had been modded to hell sometime in the 80s and refinished a couple times and under the pick guard, this is what I was pleasantly surprised to see!

The cool thing is I have a set of SD custom shop pearly gates also wound by Maricela Jaurez, so finding these were really cool. I have something from the very start of her career, and something new from her as well.

Yeah it’s pretty dirty. It was a gigged guitar for about 15 years before it got put in a closet for 25 years.

Ya know the blobs of steel wool fragments stuck to the bottoms of the screws is probably part of the guitars magic sound lol

You’re right it’s the foam.

There might be a little bit of f metal fragments but it’s mostly foam. It’s been there for 40 years so I think it’s fine.
