Through a 50 watt Marshall, it'll sound a bit like Clapton's '60 Les Paul used on the John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers album. Should be an awesome vintage paf type tone!

What about a Custom 5 and a 59? I'm thinking the Custom 5 will be a little more mid rangey due to the higher output.

How well do they clean up and tap? Unless, it's an 80's rock thing, I spend most of my time on the neck humbucker, but I would like to tap the neck to get a strat neck type sound for the Lenny/Little Wing thing. Also, I play pretty much a dirty sounding amp, but I roll back the volume for cleans.

My favorite guitar with dual humbuckers that sound great split as well as in full humbucking is my MIJ Strat with the PGn and Custom.
IMO, that guitar gets the best humbucking tones and best single coil tones whn those humbuckers are split of any guitar I've owned.
That set would also sound great in your PRS...
