I came across this image, and the amp and cab is a mystery to me. Anyone know what JPJ is using here?

Re: What amp and cab is this?

looks kinda like that gibson that was
being sold a few weeks ago...but a bass amp version...

what's the year on that photo?

Re: What amp and cab is this?

Not sure of the year of the photo but judging from Pages hair and that Tele, I'd say it was from around the time of Led Zeppelin I. So, say, 1968 - 1969 era.

It is blurry, but that red tree letter logo can only be a WEM head and cab !

It was a very popular English brand in the 70's - i have the Power Muskette MK II combo (2x12, 50watt) = ear bleeding loud !

The one in the pic, is probably something like GX40 BiTone or simmilar !

WEM, was also very popular for their Bass and PA systems back then !

Just Google, WEM, or Watkins amplification.

The bigger question is why is Plant wearing high heeled womens sandals?

. . . you got it all wrong, it is Jesus-sandles.

He was, and always will be a hippy at heart !
(ermmm, not saying Jesus is a hippie :eek13: )

The more Geek'ish question is . . .

. . . why did Page start out on a Tele, and then switched over to LP's ?

Was Fender, even back then, cheaper than Gibbo's ?

And is there such a big diff between the 1st and second Zep albums in tone ?
As far as i know, Page started to use his LP's from the second album, right ?
To me, his tone never had that much of an obvious chanage, or am i just tone deaf ?
