i gotta admit...that of all the clips i've been listening to tonight...the Bogner Shiva (6l6) is sounding ALOT like the tone i'm looking for...i'm not finished listening to clips yet and i know that there are tons of variables involved in the recordings but it's a start!?

The Bogner Shiva EL-34 Reverb is one of my favorite amps out there. It's the Fender/Marshall combo everyone seeks in one amp. Still, if you want to pay a lot less, you might be happy with the blue Traynor EL-34 combo.

Based on your musical style, I think you'd also like the new Vox AC-30CC and a good OD pedal. I think you'd also really like the Fender Pro Tube Concert Reverb.

one of my good friends has the Fender Pro Tube Concert Reverb...it's the best clean and verb that my ears has ever heard!

what do you think about the 6l6 Shiva? i like both clips of the EL34 and the
6l6...but with the 6l6 there isn't a sample with a humbucker guitar...?!

I wouldn't go $2000...that's a bit high. I paid a little over $1800 for mine but it was very clean. But mine is a single 12 version...that one's a two x 12. So $2000? Maybe... It'd be nice to see someone here get it for under $1400 though! :laugh2: Lew

I had a 90lb 2x12 bad cat. never again. if it was a 1x12, i'd try to snipe it.

Yep! Forget that 90 lb stuff. I don't even like moving my Super Reverb either...just to darn big and heavy. I've started gigging again but all my amps that I gig with are 1 x 12's. Lew

That's one of the reasons I traded my DST 2x12...all my combos, for that matter...suckers weighed a TON!

It went for $2026. It's a heavy amp, but a Chieftain 2-12's got some major balls!

I just retubed mine yesterday with 2 JJ E-34L's, 2 GT12AX7M Mullard copies, and JJ ECC83's for the PI and reverb. Sounds killer!

i've been listening to clips for two days now...this is tough...i can't even decide what it is that i'm really wanting...i'm loving the bluesy grit of 6l6 amps, the smoothness of EL34 amps, and what to my ears seems sort of like a combo of the two in EL84 with them leaning a little more to the gritty sound than the smoother tones...?!

sounds like a problem doesn't it...lol???

when and if i figure that out then i'll decide on which specific amps i like best...:smack: :smack: :smack: :fingersx:
