What are some good delay pedals?

I want to add a Delay pedal to my effects board and was wondering if you guys could suggest some good ones.

I have been offered a very good deal on one of those boss ones that have the two footswitches(i forget the name) and has like 20 seconds of delay. Are these babies any good?

I think I would be best going for something with a shorter delay time maybe ~2secs

Yes, I own one and love it! Musicians friend has them for $190 now. It's called the DD-20. I like it better than the Line 6 delay modeler.

Re: What are some good delay pedals?

DD3 can be picked up quite cheap, i think they do 1.5 seconds?

if you don't use delay that often, its a nice pedal..

Re: What are some good delay pedals?

I use a DD-20. My favorite part is the fact that you can save delay settings and recall them instantly. I hate tweeking knobs on the fly, and this thing'll let me jump to different delay settings within a song. Mine's always set for a 1-20ms doubling for rhythm, then I store a bunch of other settings for lead/bridge work.

Re: What are some good delay pedals?

the best i have used (and I tried em all) is the Line6 DL4, worth it for the looping alone. the delays can sound as grungy or pristine as you want them- true bypass or non, your choice (I use non) and doubles as an overdrive, auto wah and chorus pedal.

I've had my eye on the danelectro reel tape echo simulator for quite some time now, but i doubt that's what you're looking for

my digital echoplex has 198 seconds. these are for looping of sound- spontaneous composition using long delay times. It is lots of fun.
