What are THE best electronic parts?

Re: What are THE best electronic parts?

Anyone ever tried Bourns pots?

That's a great question, Frank. Bourns must be a big aerospace/military supplier few musician types know about. They have produced gear that has gone to the moon and back...and beyond. Here is a Bourns knobpot that has an outer sweep knob connected to the minute hand. This pot has a ten turn sweep! The knob is the diameter of a US nickel (20mm-ish), and about 1" tall.

I asked this same question on the Les Paul Forum, and all I heard were crickets. Nevertheless, I bet if you (as an SD employee) sent a sample or four of common CTS pots, they might be able to help you with the exact application equivalent...or at least direct you to a supplier that has a direct profit motive.

I would love to try Bourns myself.
