what are the best options for a humbucker-sized p-90?

Duncan's Phat Cats, Dimarzio's Bluesbuckers, or the Rio Grande Bastard/Fat Bastard will do what you want.

Depends on the sound you are looking for. The Gibsons are alnico 5, the Phat Cat is alnico 2. The Fat Bastard is really hot. The Dimarzio is also alnico 5. None of them sound like a vintage P-90. They are all great pickups, just depends on the sound you are looking for.

i think the phat cat in the bridge is just spectacular. fat p90 tone.

if you put alnico 5 magnets in there i bet it would be really nice too and maybe more 'p90' like even though the phat cat really is a p90 just with the ends chopped off the bobbin
