What are the three best od-pedals You´ve ever had or tried?

Well the title just about says it.

Just curious of what pedals do You guys use or what kindof tones are your preferred OD-sounds..

Here are mine

1) MI Audio Blues Pro. The best sounding, most versatile, amplike OD I´ve ever had. Can go from a boost - light blues crunch - almost high gain.. It sounds good no matter how You tweak it. And it´s cheap, too.

2) Voodoo Lab Sparkle drive. For a very light crunch, just a little hair around the notes, there´s no better pedal. Also a very convincing TS-sound.

3) MI Audio Tube Zone (version 2). As far as high gain goes, this pedal does it best IMHO.

I own lots of other boutique / non-boutique od-s but those three are the ones that work best for me. And those work with almost any amp too, which is always a good thing.

In random order.

Frantone HepCat --> Sounds AWESOME. Its so open, raw and growls perfectly through a old Twin amp. Its not a high gain pedal, but great for ZZ Top like stuff.

Keeley FuzzHead --> Good old fuzztone. Can be raw and LOUD or get a nice OD sound out of it. Expensive though.

The last one is a bit mixed, I have 3 pedals that could take that place. CM Plexitone, Boss BD-2 and Ibanez TS-9. They all have great qualities, unfortunately, the Plexitone wasnt all too happy for my ENGL. The BD-2 is probably my favorite out of those.

Ibanez TS9 RI Tube Screamer
Boss OD-3 OverDrive
Bodd BD-1 Blues Driver

Well I don't know about the Bosses, but Tube Screamer was the best.
However, I didn't find my tone with the pedals so I've sold them
all. I don't have any overdrive pedals anymore. I believe I'm getting by better with the rack stuff I use nowadays.

-Ibanez tube king
-Danelectro FAB OD

close 4th: Boss super OD

however, I'm sure I'd dig the boss blues driver if I ever tried it. seen it on so many pro's websites and stages.

Well, here's my favorite three pedals to use for boosting a tube amp into more grit.

1) Rangemaster based Germanium booster. It is my absolute favorite pedal.
2) Indyguitarist's "Fallclone" SD-1 mod. My only gripe was it was WAY too treble-y. I had to mod it further to get rid of the excessive treble I found in it.
3) Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive.

1) Clay Jones OD. Nothing else comes as close to that Dumble-esque tone in stompbox format.

2) Analog.man King of Tone V4. Molds with a wide variety of amplifiers beautifully. Smooth, open sounding and extremely versatile, love it!

3) GoudieFX Crystal Boost. It doesn't do much (it's a barebones, no nonsense clean boost), but what it does, it does exceptionally well. It's completely transparent, as transparent as can be. In the FX Loop of an amp (the way I use it all the time), it boosts the volume of the amplifier without any coloration. In front of the amp, it keeps the dynamics of the original tone, but fattens it a little bit (due in part that it pushes the preamp going in front).

I'm willing to bet that if I owned a Klon it'd be #3, but I've had exceptional experiences with the top 3 pedals listed.

That is why I have a hugemongeous amounts of drives and disto's...

Keeley BD-2. Nice, clear, transparent overdrive. Cleans up well, has great dynamics, and adds just the right amount of grit.

Thats my favorite as of right now, at least.

Not sure about best but my 3 favs so far are

-Banzai Cold Fusion
-Lovetone Brown Source
-Analogman SD-1 with 808/Brown/silver and clipping mods

However, I have a Tim on the way and full expect to be blown away by it and I should be getting a call from Analog Mike anyday abotu my KOT which should also be cool.

All that said...my favorite OD tone ever comes from my Mission Amps tweed Super!!! Let's see somebody get that from a box!:laugh2:

I have owned very few, and that makes me sad.
I'm just gonna say of all the ones that i've had, the only one that i've kept and still use to this day is an Ibanez TS-7 Tubescreamer It's got a switch to switch from TS-9 to HOT. I dig it.

Me, I use them in a ME-50, so they may not be exactly like this separately, but I would say the Boss Distortion, Blues Driver, and Metal Zone.
