Klon Centaur - it's an extension of any amp it's plugged into. The only one I've tried that makes an amp sound richer than it's own natural amp gain.......you could leave it on all the time.
Banzai Coldfusion - sounds big, and has a nice sweep from clean to gainy. It's also the coolest looking OD out there.
Blues Pearl Blue Screamer - the best TS variant I've ever had, and I kick myself for selling it.
I also think the Fulltone pedals are up there too, and I really like the FDII and OCD. Same with the Carl Martin Plexitone.....I've been wanting to pick one of those up after hearing it briefly at the store.
The MI Audio Tube Zone is something I've been wanting to check out, and I'm very excited to see/hear the new Fulltone GT-350 that's coming out this year.

I absolutely agree. But the three pedals I mentioned are, at the moment, the ones that have worked best in the situations I´ve been in during the past year or so. Also the amp I usually gig with takes those really well. So, for my personal od-needs, they work best right now. Tomorrow could be totally different..
(hugemongeous amounts of drives and disto's over here too... gotta love ´em!)

G2D Custom Overdrive - the pedal I've used most consistently for the longest period of time, ever since I first bought it. Great rhythm tones and fantastic lead solo channel. Loads of highly usable sounds in this pedal and a usefull midrange adjustment. Well voiced overall.
Maxon OD808 - nice TS9 style sound, with 'the chip' apparently. Nice pedal, although it didn't replace the G2D it still gives me another type of sound on the palate.

G2D Custom Overdrive - the pedal I've used most consistently for the longest period of time, ever since I first bought it. Great rhythm tones and fantastic lead solo channel. Loads of highly usable sounds in this pedal and a usefull midrange adjustment. Well voiced overall.

I've gone thru a bunch the past 1-2 years & I'll honestly say there wasn't a dog in the bunch; just some worked better for me than others.
Currently on my board:
1) Blackstone S2v3
2) Analogman Sunlion...it's a Sunface/Beano Boost 2-in-1
3) tie...RGW Electronics Bad Bob Boost & Dirty Dan...can't find a pic of the Dirty Dan, but it looks the same as the Bad Bob

I've gone thru a bunch the past 1-2 years & I'll honestly say there wasn't a dog in the bunch; just some worked better for me than others.

As for the SD-2, i absolutly love this pedal stock. It has 2 modes called Crunch and Lead. Crunch has a really transparent Fender amp like drive to it. I think its the Blackface sound with the mids slightly scooped and not slightly honky like the Tweeds. The other channel is called Lead. And it just oozes Marshall like qualities. Great for playing Deep Purple stuff and all things rock.

I forgot to mention the Visual Sound Route66 Overdrive/Compressor. It's based on a TS808 (or TS9) I believe and it sounds great with a Marshall type amp!
The SD-2 is quite a cool little pedal. I was surprised someone mentioned it! Have you tried it with the footswitch yet?

I am not a seeker of these things like some.
For me it's simplicity. The pedals that NEVER failed me for years were:
Fulltone FD2
Fulltone OCD
Ibanez TS9 RI
Boss SD-1 Japan (my fave for years, I don't touch it now)

This is funny...I see a lot of people mentioning distortion and fuzz units as well as OD pedals...it just shows how people view things differently!

Well, I think a lot of ODs can be used for OD or distortion & some to the point where they fuzz out; just depends on how ya' set it.
The HBE UFO is a good example of a fuzz that also boosted the signal....if you backed off the fuzz knob, it was very OD like.
My Blackstone is a 2 channel MOSFET OD, but the red channel can be set as an OD or a pretty gritty distortion.
Like the Cold Fusion.....clean boost to light OD

I've tryed a bunch of pedals, and hated all of them. They all sound fake & buzzy to me. No pedal will ever sound better than a cranked tube amp.
