What are you putting your Crazy 8 in?!?!?!

I'm leaning towards an Alder body (theodie has me thinking about purpleheart or ash, though) rear routed with a single hum and dive-only Floyd, maple neck/fingerboard (reverse strat headstock) 25.5" scale. It'll probably be a pretty flat radius. Of course, I'll have to build/order all of this.

What are you slappin' yours in?




Oh, and there's one rule - if you post in this thread you've gotta report back about whether or not it went in that guitar. :D

I've had my eye out for a used single hum/floyd charvel. If I can't find 1 at the price I want to pay then I will probably stick it in my soloist until i do find a Charvel

I'm working on a deal on the body right now. I say I don't believe in fate, and then I stumble upon a body that was almost exactly what I would have custom ordered. Scary. It's a mahogany body strat, contoured heel, H-S-H top rout, recessed Wilkinson bridge, the recess was the only thing I would not have custom ordered.

Neck is somewhat up in the air. What I know is that it'll be a maple neck with a profile, radius, and width as close as humanly possible to my LP Studio. No face dots. I'm stuck on two very big things: scale and fretboard. On one hand I feel most at home on 24.75", one the other I prefer strat styles with 25.5" necks. Fretboard is about feel - I'd prefer the feel of an unfinished wood, like Pau Ferro or Rosewood, but think the color scheme is best fit by a maple board.

My first pairing with the Crazy 8 is going to be my favorite strat neck pickup, one that I dearly miss... the Cool Rails.

I'll probably be putting mine in my ESP LTD MV-200, paired with the Classic Stack Plus.

I'll eventually find a guitar to put my JB into

:laugh2: I know the feeling. I've got a 78 sitting in the bridge of my Peavey waiting on it's permanant home - and I'm itching to put a CC back in the Peavey.

I'm guitar poor. :bandit:

I'm gonna get one for my sons Ibanez sa.. it'll be trem spaced, one for my '57 R.I B.Beauty (should look and hopefully sound mean in there) and one for my USA wolf.

im gonna try it in my Jackson KE first just to compare how it would sound compared to the pup already inside. if its better/something i like more, then it stays else next would be my Ibanez RG550.

well, I originally bought the Ibanez SZ to put the Crazy 8 in, but the stock Duncan/Ibanez sounds sooooo good that I can't take it out.

it gives me a reason to buy another guitar so I can finally try a Jazz :D

Probably my Squier '51, but I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight convert my Strat to HSS... too close to call

One custom order Jacskon DK1, mahogany body, 1 Hum and a neck SC, OFR, etc. Transparent green sounds good today for color.

The crazy 8 will be in one of my mahogany Charvels until the Jackson arrives sometime in 2034 (I think that is the current wait time....LOL)

My black limba H/H super tele. Gonna get a black limba/rosewood neck for it, throw a phat cat in the neck, and have the crazy 8 in the bridge. Would be most righteously cool.

Gotta sell an axe to help fund it though...the schecter shall soon be gone.

It's gonna Replace my double white JB in my LADO,or I'm gonna try it in my '75 LP Custom...still in the Air about that one, it'll also Give me the Incentive to Strip my Lado Body down to get my buddie to do some artwork on it:D
