im in a block as many of you are, stuck in a repetitive mess of pentatonic licks. Yea, more bend licks, and Jimmy Page licks, but in the end they all sound the same. How do you vary your tones in a solo, and where do you go to stay away from the same old crap? is it a good idea to change modes, remain in key, and at the same position? How closely should one follow the chords with accompanying licks in those keys? AHH no wonder i suck after so many years! Somebody gimme a tip on varying solo tones, say in a I, IV, V blues.
