What are your favorite POD XT settings?....

I just got a POD XT a while back and have been experimenting with different settings. What are your favorite settings and amp models on the POD XT? You may also want to include your favorite cab models and fx as well. :saeek:

I don't own an XT, but I've got a 2.0 (and thanks to an online lesson from tonewizard, B2D, I'm finally getting some really good sounds out of it).

Here's a couple of my favorite settings so far:

For harder rock, I like the Brit HiGain amp model, either the first or third (clockwise) 4x12 cab setting, reverb @9 o clock, bass at 12 o clock, mids and treble both at 3 o clock, presence boost on, compressor on (with tweak knob around 11 o clock), and if I"m playing slowly and melodically, delay/compression.

For cleans to mild dirties, I actually prefer the Black Panel amp model with same EQ settings either the first (clockwise) 2x12 cab model, or either of the 2x10 cab models, drive ranging from 9 o clock to 12 o clock, and a touch more reverb than playing really dirty. Delay, compression, salt and pepper as needed.

GuitarGuy... I run the LA Line 6 users group and am a beta tester for the XT products. If you'd like a pile of patches to get you up and running, just shoot me an email and I'll send you a zip file of about 100 patches to get you rollling. Some are my personal versions of my patches that are now factory defaults in the model packs. You will need the model packs for many of these. A bunch of these patches have been used on albums and TV shows already, so I do know they are very usable.

I'm using one of AZ's Marshall Brit Hi-Gain 80's metal settings, and it's staying on my Flextone FOREVER!

I'm liking the bogner and tweed models at the moment, but usually I plug in, find an amp, play for about 2hrs, tweaking it etc, then get distracted and don't save!!!

Rinse, I sent you the patches... Check out the PEP Crunch patch. That one uses the Bassman model with a slight bit of crunch pedal on it. I get emails from players that this patch gets used more for recording and live than most other patches. It's the "just right" amount. I also use this one on my Vetta quite a bit on sessions.

I use a Tube Screamer + Marshall Plexi Variac with a 4X12 w/Vintage 30s.

I sounds great. Listen to "The Patriot" (below) to hear that patch throughout. It is a really cool Lynch-like tone. I'd be happy to e-mail it to you.

Congrats on the XT. I am really impressed with it. I paid the full $399 but it was still worth it.

I've been a long time user of the POD XT. Mainly because I don't have the cash for a real amp and the XT kinda fell into my hands years ago. I've been skimming thru forum threads about POD XT settings/patches and keep coming across the PED Crunch patch. I'd love to try it, but can't find it anywhere. I've Googled it, checked the Line 6 Custom Tone page on their website and a few other sites. The one place I haven't been able to check is the Custom Library that's in the Line 6 Edit software. For whatever reason, I keep getting an error when trying to get in.

Can anyone end me a link to this patch, or if they have a copy of the patch to post it here?

Haha. Looks like it's still dead. I found that PEP Crunch patch, but it was made with a POD 2.0, so it's not compatible with my XT. Lamest.

I really digged Line 6 Insane on this one, haha. That was just "all you can eat" gain :headbang: It still sounds good on the demos I made back then. Was disappointed with the Rectifier though. Also don't like it on my HD500.
