What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

Here in 2013 I'm looking to get a nice ibanez artcore for jazz band, but my big plan is to build another Marshall blues breaker clone. On a side note, anyone have much knowledge of capacitors? I want this thing to be bleeding orange but don't know where to start.

Well, I just placed an order for this bad boy ESP EX360. Always wanted one, now necessity forced me to buy one.

I'm going to have to change my User Name to ESP Distortion. :jester:

I may just upgrade my amps in a few months depending on how the ESP works out.

I really don't do pedals, so there aren't many priorities gearwise in 2013.

Fix my Fender Twin, maybe a Gretsch 6120DC in Orange. Replace the pickups (body rout) in my CIJ Strat with real humbuckers.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

Things I want:

A Les Paul
An EVH 5150 III 50 watt head
A Jerry Cantrell Wah
Pickups for the Les Paul
A Phase 90

Things I might actually be able to purchase:
The Phase 90
The EVH head

I am ordering a custom guitar this year. I really don't NEED another guitar but this one will be special. A very good/close friend will be building it. Should take about 3 months to do. Not going to talk too much about it until its done.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I had a decent year. I got my MXR Custom Badass Overdrive, Joyo Sweet Baby, MXR Dyna Comp, Cool Cat Tremolo, an LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI, and some new pickups for my strat.

For 2013, I have a bunch of stuff I'd like to get, but I have a feeling I'll only accomplish a little bit of it. Here's my list (in order of priority):

Micro Vibe
Mooer Trelicopter
K&K Pickup for my acoustic
LR Baggs Venue DI
Mesa Lonestar Special
Tele build w/ a mini-hum in the neck
Paisley Drive
FMT Tele HH (Mahogany body and set neck, I'll call it the Paulocaster)

The tele build might happen sooner, if I find a good deal on a body on Ebay, and I'd like to get an MXR Micro Flanger at some point, but that's not as big of a deal.

Well I've gotten the Micro Vibe already, should be getting a Trelicopter soon.

My guitar priorities changed after I discovered the P-Rails though. Gonna have to get a 2x Humbucker guitar to drop a set into.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

My PRS Bernie Marsden needs new tuners and a new nut, so I'm planning to replace those. I'm also thinking about selling my Class 5 and buying a smaller amp like the new Phil X Troublemaker. I need a smaller amp. Sometimes I feel like I have a Maserati that I'm only allowed to drive around a schoolyard. I'd get a Yamaha thr10, but I don't really like digital modelers and to the best of my knowledge, the thr10 doesn't have a line out. The more I watch Phil tear it up on that little amp, the more I want one.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I've been seeing this thread for a long time, and since moving to a house where i pay a lot more rent, buying any new gear has become almost out of the question. Fortunately i planned ahead and bought some great 'lifer' gear over the last decade at my previous, low-rent house.

However, I have since decided I want to improve my recording interface to something very high quality. RME and PrismSound are the brands i'll be looking at, although it will probably take all of 2013 to amass the funds. It would be either the RME Fireface or Prismsound Lyra. I don't need them for mic preamps as i use preamps that i built, all-tube and extremely high-end quality. If someone would build good line-level only converters I'm sure i would be able to get something for less money, but unfortunately the inbuilt mic pres are a selling point, so a part of my money will be spent on something i won't use.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

The Amptweaker TightRock looks like it may find a place on my pedalboard.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

Realistically, I need to get a 1X12 all tube amp for gigging. The 2X12 I have is great but heavy to lug around. Guitar-wise, I'd love a Firebird VII or Les Paul Special (single cut).

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I don't need a thing.

But I'd like to have a Wampler Euphoria or Ecstasy of my very own.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

Doubt I'll be able to buy anything this year since 2012 wiped me out, but if things somehow turn around and get better than expected I'd love to pick up a Deluxe Reverb for my surf project.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

This year I am planning to get a 2x12 cabinet to keep at home for practice. Sure beats lugging a 1/2 stack setup back and forth on a weekly basis. My back will thank me for the purchase.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I'd like to stock up on strings again.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

What was your gear acquisition like in 2012?

I don't think I even realized how good my 2012 GAS was 'til you actually asked the question. 2012 was very good to me. (No Mayan prophecy for me.)

Peavey Windsor: (Dealer display model blowout)
Bogner Alchemist: (MF Stupid-deal-of-the-day)
Epiphone LP Custom: (customer non-pick up)
BC Rich Warlock: (customer non-pick up) (Neither of those was my customer)
MIJ Ibanez RG-665 (flea-market steal)
Seymour Duncan P-Rails set: (deal, nuff said)
Vintage Big Muff PI: (flea-market again)

All of the above, for about a grand!

what are your GAS priorities, thoughts, etc??? 2012 list? 2013 wish list? :scratchch:approve:

Wire up all of the above, and make it play.
Build my "pedal-board-from-hell".
Build my iso-cab, so I can actually hear those two amps properly.
Finish my new workshop.

I'd actually like to sell some of the guitars that I never play.

You and me both, brother. ;)

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I have always wanted a Sienna Sunburst Stratocaster. I won't go out of my way to buy one, but over Christmas I'm gonna try some of the music stores in Manchester, then back home in Leeds and see what they have. I won't buy one just for the sake of things though, it has to look right, have lovely grain, feel amazing and sound great.

Check! I bought an American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster in Sienna Sunburst at Dawson's Music in Manchester. It kind of makes my other guitars seem like toys now.

Re: What are your next gear acquisition priorities for your future gear? 2013?

I've changed my plans - no more J45. I'm going after a Martin M-36 or a 0000-18 after playing my good friend's Martin OM-42 (that guitar blows my mind). Now I just need to find one for the right price. :) Electric guitars, amps and recording equipment done. I'll be adding a Klon KTR at some point just to see what the hype is about. I'm probably going to be selling my Ovation A/E and my Roland electric drum kit that I never use this year also (it's all about simplifying). Closer to perfect than ever before in the last 15 something years. It'll be nice to stop buying gear and focus on recording a real album as the songs are coming along nicely.
