hmm..I'd just like a friggin JMP 50 watt NMV or MV Marshall thats built as well as the old ones that doesn't cost a damn fortune.......not a plexi....not a late model 800....not the DSL/TSL stuff.

when shall i deliver it? :D can use the 50w plexi OEI tranny i have in the parts room.

As for classic amps I'd like to see make a comeback? Marshall Major? :D

not much of a market. 50w to 100w seems to be the ones peeps want. course there are always the few crazy ones.. :D:D:D:D

iam starting to put test points btw.

a 250k pot would make minute adjustments difficult. plus it'd e easy to hit it by accident.

and you still need to drop the voltage...

As I think about, perhaps a dedicated 6V6 plexi would be best. Simpler is always better it seems. That's the problem with most amps; they try to pack too many features into the package. Versatility shouldn't really the primary goal. I'd be very intersted in two tube "plexi" that was only 20 watts. Moreover, I believe the 6V6 is the best tube for such an animal.

That sounds great. There's a thinking guitar player for ya! :)

I think what you're missing out on here is that a ton of the plexi tone comes from the power section. The output transformer is the heart of an amp, and you can't use marshall style output transformers with a 6V6 amp, plus 6V6s have an entirely different character than larger tubes. Can you get nice tones out of a Marshall style 6V6 amp? Sure you can! Will it sound like a plexi? I've never heard one that did.

Also, what do we even mean when we say "plexi"? In terms of clarity, Plexi is to amps what PAF is to pickups. There were a bunch of original designs. Some are awesome, some are dogs, and just because something has a plexi type circuit doesn't mean it's going to sound good.
