What color is this?

I see lots of "amber" guitars out there, but many appear far more yellow. I'm totally digging this slightly warmer (Orange?) tone. I first saw it on an early-'90s Charvel ST (example pictured below) and now this Fender Strat pic I came across. Is it just lighting? Are there different "ambers"?

Looks like Amber, or Aged Natural, on the Fender. I wanted to say Sunset Orange Transparent, but I'm not so sure.

I'm no Fender expert but it looks like Butterscotch to me

0.o? You´re saying that looks like THIS:

?

I beg to differ.

I would refer to the OP color (which I´ve also seen before on the aforementioned Charvel strats) as "translucent orange", the exact shade could be debated for a while... Hence amber could also be used as a name, as amber does describe the color of, who´d´ve guessed, AMBER, and amber itself is a yellowish orange.

When I think of amber I think of automotive turn signals. "Dark Amber" would be the closest I can describe the posted color using the word amber but not the word orange. :D

Definitely amber. Not even close to Butterscotch.

Yes, there are many variations of amber just like there are many different blues or reds or oranges.

But at least on my computer, those certainly look like "amber".

Re: What color is this?

It looks closest to Amber but I'm not sure if lightning could account for what appears to be more orange.

Hey Scott,

Lightning is kinda blue-white. With your "head in the clouds"), this is something you should be familiar with.
