What color pickguard for sunburst / maple Strat?

I am the proud owner of a 1996 American Standard Stratocaster, bought brand new off the rack in '96 and unmodified until 2008 when it got a Little '59 neck pickup installed in the bridge position.

I want to go full humbucker in the bridge, HSS, so I need a new pickguard anyways.

what color works best for a 3-Color Sunburst / maple Stratocaster?

Either a w/b/w or b/w/b would probably look the classiest.

Black 3-ply guard, with white pickups and knobs. Can't go wrong with that.

It will keep the two white single coils and will get whatever you jokers sell me in the bridge. I don't care what ends up in the bridge, color-wise

I know it's not anywhere near a sunburst finish on my old MIJ Contemporary Strat, but white pup covers and knobs on a b/w/b guard look flippin' fantastic.

I like this. I remember a photo of Leo Fender presenting a sunburdt strat
to some old mate in a cowboy hat that had the gold anodized pickguard.

I always opt for pearloid, but if that ain't your thing, then it's mint FTW.

Imo, b/w/b or something nobody seems to have thought of, Parchment!

B/W/B would be my first choice, however if you keep the white pus/knobs you might get pissed after a while from people calling you Stevie.
A guy I know (who also plays very similar music as chance would have it) briefly went through this.

In the end he opted for a copper guard (kinda like the gold anodized someone posted above) and all I could say is, don't knock it till you've tried it!
The guy naturally "relic-ed" his guitar in a matter of months and let me tell you, the copper guard REALLY becomes a road-worn (and then some :9:) sunburst strat.

Finally, a tortoise guard looks ok but a tad too flashy for my tastes, you mileage might vary though...
