What color pickups for a Black Beauty Les paul

I gotta go with double black uncovered.
The following is a pics of my freinds 58 Black beauty. One Original black PAF and One 60's PAF . Its a bad ass looking Paul. I was offetred this guiatr for 600.00 back in the early 80's, and I didnt have the jack, so I turned my friend on to the deal.
I recently offered him 11 acres . Very nice land for it, and he turned me down . ahahha.Boooo.

There are only 2 choices for that beauty. Double-black, or aged gold. Or one of both. Aged gold neck, double-black bridge (my preference).

Yep, if uncovered (which I prefer) double black is the only way to go IMO.

Is that a Black Beauty? I thought a BB had three pickups (which should be gold IMO!).
Isn't that just a LP Custom?

Either way, it's gotta be gold all the way, although it'd need to be aged to match the hardware.

Gold, and not being afraid to play it because of tarnish. A black beauty deserves covered pickups IMO.

I'm sure the '57 Custom is the one that's refered to as the Black Beauty... they come in both 2 and 3 pick up configurations. I prefer gold... I did try my 2 pick up R.I with the covers removed but re-fitted them as it didn't look right?

double black on an LP custom just screams izzy stradlin... So if you are going for a more rock vibe, I vote for that (which is cool). But for me, aged gold all the way

I'd never have associated Izzy with a Les Paul. I know he played some over the years, but when I think of him it's either with that white Telecaster thing he had in the "Sweet Child" vid, or the big semi thing he has on the cover of "117º".

i prefer covered. but double cremes/whites with matching pup rings looks cool too.

I used to have one one of those, a '69 two p'ups "Fretless Wonder" one. The best guitar I've ever had.

My vote goes to two Reversed Zebra ones w/ golden screws. It just screams the two big C's: Class and Cool.

D-black or aged gold. Full cream is a third option....weak IMO (See Frampton/Frehley)
