I'm looking to get new pickups in my epiphone les paul standard tobacco burst and I'm looking for opinions for the colors of pickups I should get.

Heres my LP:

EDIT: Also, since the main competitors are zebra and nickel covered, could someone discuss and tell me the tonal differences between covered vs. uncovered?

Reverse Zebra looks fantastic in Tobacco Burst guitars. Take the pickguard off and your axe looks like Slash's :)

One reverse zebra & one zebra would look cool in your LP too. I'm 'bout to put a red & black paf pro, and a red & black super distortion in an all black Gib LP. It should look killer! IMO.

Definitely reverse zebra. I feel like the covers detract from the tobacco burst while a bit of zebra flavour would add a nice accent to it.

I always like zebras I have them in my goldtop xaviere semi hollow lp axe. nothing wrong with covers but I tend to prefer the look of exposed coils especially cream.

I prefer the nickel covers over my pups, but I have a white les paul type guitar with brushed aluminum hardware to match so yeah. Otherwise go with the reversed zebra.

Nothing, but nothing beats double cream in Tobacco.

But any of the Zebra combo's will rock it as well.

Zebra...because I like it.

Tonally, the uncovered pickups will have a bit more treble. Probably a good idea on an Epi LP IME.

I put covers on any PU's I buy that are open coil. They look so much better. Any slight loss of treble can be made up by making a small increase in the treble on the amp. Besides, most bridge PU's on LP's are still a little bright anyways.
