What colour Les Paul is this ?

Asking for my brother.

He had a black/ebony Std, and apparently just fell in love with this one.

Talking alone the lines of his next LP will be this colour ?

It kinda looks like a Tobacco Burst, but not really.

I THINK it is a tobacco burst that is just being hit by the lights odd.

It MIGHT be a Desert burst

Since it has a dark rim around it, I'd say tobacco, but it's super close to a desert burst as well.

I bet if you asked him he would tell you. All I know is that it's a 2006 Les Paul Standard with stock pickups.

It's just a Gibson USA guitar similar to all the traditionals we have. I would assume tobacco burst but tobacco burst is more of like a 3 color finish than the two tone seen in the video. This guy is actually an extremely educated guitar player, i can only assume, some of his licks span entire scale patterns and I have heard him mix major and minor to perfection.

I Googled a bit, and it looks like it's a 2006 Standard. It's a perimeter burst, so it's definitely not vintage sunburst. It'd be nice to get a list of available finishes on the 2006 Standards, since so many different variations and names for various bursts have been used over the past 15 years or so. But for now my vote goes to Desert Burst or Tobacco Sunburst. It's impossible to tell from that video, but if you look up better pix on Google Images, you'll see that it is almost two color, with just a hint of the reddish transitional color.

But, like Jolly sez, drop him a line and ask. It can't hurt.

It's a modern burst, not the more traditional teardrop-shaped burst, so it's going to be a more recent official color. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

When did they start the new "rim-bursts" or "edge-bursts"? It was only a few years ago.

all the trads that showed up in the show me your les paul thread I put up a while back. I'm just stating that it's a guitar with classic les paul specs, nothing custom made or anything like that.
