What compliments a rectifier well?

I plan on getting another amp to use with my single rectoverb. I may use both amps distorted at the same time, so what amp would compliment the rec.'s dirties when they are both used? I want a smooth, liquidy, dark tone, not a heavy metal thrash tone. thanks

Smooth and liquidy? Soldano Hot Rod 50 (50+ if you want a clean channel).

The Koch Multitone I just sold could get you there, too.

Normally, I'd suggest mixing a Marshall with a Rectifier.

Try an Ampeg VL503 combo or 502 head. Killer, underrated amps.
