I wonder how the name "El Capistan" was given to the Strymon unit?
The mythical "Capistan Ruby "from the annals of Marvel Comic history?... A play on the word "Capstan", which is a part of the tape machine head assembly , or both? Hmm...

I use the carbon copy, not a lot of features but it's tiny, cheap, and sounds great. I mostly use it for a very short delay time to subtly thicken up my clean tones. I would really like to pick up something with tap tempo so I can use longer delays live however.

I love my Deluxe Memory Man but it produces too much AC and clock noise and it's only good for about 430ms. I keep intending to send it to Howard Davis for a tune-up but other things get in the way. Maybe I'll make that a Christmas present to me this year. I have tried many delays and currently own four. None compare to the sound of the DMM.

It could really use a tap button to set the delay, though.
