What do IRON MAIDEN's guitarists really use on their guitars?

Re: What do IRON MAIDEN's guitarists really use on their guitars?

You guys are insulting Iron Maiden as a band by saying Janick sucks......If he was so bad they would have found a better replacment a long time ago. If everyone is saying that I don't know what I'm talking about, your also saying that Bruce, Adrian, Dave, Steve and Nikko also doesn't.

Not true at all. You can like a band and be of the opinion there's a weak link in the overall chain...

Not at all.

I'll say this: they are past the point of CARING. I'm a huge fan, but frankly they aren't terribly relevant anymore, in fact, not at all unoless we count thier classic contributions and legend status. The new music sucks. Just like The Rolling Stones or Lynyrd Skynrd or any other band thats been doing it for WAYYYY too many years. The material and the IM "formula" has been rehashed over and over to the point of nauseum since 1988 . They aren't doing anything new. They don't need to prove anything, they are not youngsters, nor are they "hungry" anymore. They aren't concerned with the things they were in 1982.

They wanna make some music, rock out on stage, and they love their fans. They do it because they love it. Jannick is a great guy obviously and a good personality fit in the band, and there is no real reason, business or otherwise to get rid of him. I LIKE HIM! I do have issue with him however, because I don't feel he makes noteworthy contributions musically whatsoever. *BUT* I don't have to live and work with him for a year at a time, either. Some things are more important than skill. I suspect Jannick is there because they LIKE him as a PERSON more than having to do with his skill.

As Adrian is fond of saying (paraphrased) "I just wanna have me a play and a sing". That is pretty much the attitude of Iron Maiden as they get into their 50s. I don't blame 'em one bit!

They let him stay because they've become friends, and really, steve is the only one with a say in that band, and he has made some stupid decisions over the years. Blaze anyone? You're saying they could pick who they wanted. They wanted someone easy. Not holding a thousand auditions or whatever.
"Oh, Bruce's friend. He can play the guitar alright I suppose. You're in!"
I'm just happy Adrian is back, cos Janick aint leaving now.
