What do we have here? (NGD)

I picked up this Gibson Les Paul today after seeing it a week or so ago, and it was still available. Per the serial # (17XXXXXXX) and from what I have researched, the closest I can seem to verify is a 2017 Classic Plus with a AA top in Ice Tea Burst. It has 59 Lead and 59 Rhythm pickups - 59 Tributes. The pots are Gibson, hand wired (not PCB) and Orange drop caps. Also has full cream binding, a slim taper neck, red, two-piece back, and locking Grovers - no poker chip and no pickguard (or hole!).

I haven't played it much yet, but it resonates and sustains acoustically like a Les Paul should and feels great.

Can anyone verify the model as a Classic Plus or determine it do be something else?

I think the Classic Plus has a flame top, which this one has. Gibson can tell you for sure if you call and give them the serial number. Great looking Les Paul.

Thanks.. Yup, I shot them over the serial #. It is a Classic Plus, Ice Tea Burst finish and was a GC exclusive. At the same time ZZounds had an exclusive on the same model in a figured Heritage Cherry top

The 59 Tribute pickups are supposedly forerunners or close cousins to CS Custombuckers and fetch a pretty penny. Before I knew what I had (and expecting 498/490 or 57s), I was planning on replacing them with a great set of Wolfetones I have sitting in a drawer, but I'm gonna give myself a few weeks with these first. With a quick try, they sound awesome. But the pots have to go for sure. I am guessing they are linear 300K because most of the sweep is between 1 and 3. So hoping these pups will only sound better with an electronics swap.
