id say anything under 9 lbs is pretty light, 9-11 is probably medium weight, anything 12 or over is a heavy freaking guitar

For me, 9-9.5 max. Over that and I won't be comfortable.

My heaviest guitars are 8 lbs. My Epi LP is 7.5 lbs. If my Esquire project (eventually) comes in at around 8 lbs, I'll be happy.

My Burny is close to 11. its a boat anchor but sustains like mad. My Gibbies are prob 8 or 9.

Having been thru 3 back surgeries, they all are challenging. My Ace Frehley EPi is about 7 lbs.. Feels like a toy compared to the others, but it plays and sounds great!!

My Epi Custom weighs in at 7.7 pounds. Works for me.

I think you all just need a sensory diet, and you compensate by wearing LPs.

I top out at 9 1/2 - 10 pounds.

Anything over that is more then I want on my shoulder for more then 20 minutes.



I like 7.5 - 8 pound Tele's on a regular basis.

My heaviest guitar is the all maple Charvel. It weighs 9 lb's even. It is considerably heavier than any of my other guitars. My lightest solid body guitar is probably only about 3 pounds less, but once you get beyond 7 1/2-8 lb's it's getting heavy. I mean I pick up the Charvel, and it seems like picking up a lead weight in comparison. I know that this thread is about LP's, but I wouldn't want anything heavier than 9 lb's, LP or not!
