What do you do with broken pedals.

I recently opened up an old storage box and checked pedals I accumulated over the years. While Boss pedals are working fine regardless how cosmetically battered, most of the boutique pedals seem broken or malfunctioning. Can't just throw them away but I am not sure what I want to do with them. Any advice?

Which pedals are you talking about and what problems do you have with them?

Could be minor component failure due to age. Or corrosion if batteries were left in, or exposed to weather. Electronic clean up and retouching bad solder points sometimes gets things working again.

I usually trace the circuit and replace things until they're working again.

Yes, fix them. Someone on here has a ton of experience fixing/modifying pedals. Search The Trading Post.

You'd be amazed how many things that seem broken are just dirty. Learn how to banish the the schmutz. Keep yer knobs polished and your jack holes spic and span for maximum performance.

In fact, one of the broken pedals is a Line 6 Verbzilla, which weights a ton. I might be tempted to wing it if I don't pass the band audition this Sunday.
