What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

Re: What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

i know a little about the tweed versions but not much about the others

Re: What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

what's the difference?
how do they sound?
how much would they cost?

Which one are you looking at?

There are Tweed Versions, brownface versions, blone ones, BF ones, SF ones and the kicker is that they are all different...as for prices you will see numbers ranging from $350 to 5k+ depending on which one you want.

Re: What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

The good one has the TFL 5005 circuit (Bandmaster Reverb)

It can be changed / modified into a Super Reverb or Vibroverb quite easily.

Bandmasters in native state are clean, but wimpy.

Re: What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

i like them. My blonde bandmaster has a VERY crisp 'soaring' sound....thats the best i could describe it. The high end is very defined but not painful, it just sounds beautiful. I need to fix it up though

Re: What do you know about Fender Bandmasters?

The tweed 3x10" Bandmasters (there aren't that many) go for big bucks these days...one went for 18K not long ago. OTOH, a beat one went for just about 2,700 last few days...

The brown 3x10" version lasted one year...also hard to find, but a lot cheaper.

The later versions (blonde/BF/SF) were all head/cab...they all sound good with a little (or a lot of) help and with the right speakers.

I do like the look of the blonde ones.
