What do you players think of the Boss BR600?

Are Boss products in this genre good, or is there an equivalent Tascam product (or other) that is good for recording/sharing digitally under $500?

I would gladly trade a few features for "brand reliability".

Also, not to kick any dirt on the most informative site I have ever been a member of...Are there any boards that focus on the amatuer/home recording end of the spectrum?

I've had a Boss BR532 - 4 track w/ 8 v tracks per, with built in drum machine and effects - for about 3 years and it's perfect for me and sounds good. I've got a couple of threads with clips in this forum if you'd like to hear. Keep in mind that I like warm, natural sounds and don't go direct in, so that's why the clips sound the way they do.

A good thing to do is read reviews of recorders in your price range at harmony-central.com. Take them with a grain of salt, but you can get a good overall feel usually if there are enough reviews.
