well i prefer the straight front cabs oddly enough... i'm not sure if i could tell a difference in tone but i seem to buy and like straight front cabs... could be from years of the Who using Hiwatt cabs that are all straight front and i like the look... could be because they are slightly larger..

Well if I was going orange, of course, it would have to be straight, thats a classic look.

Lookwise, it depends on the amp. Soundwise, I rarely ever play out anywhere anymore, so anytime I'm just psyched anytime I'm using a 4X12

I just don't like the look of slants in general. Nothing to do with the sound mind you, just a personal bias on my part.

The only slant I ever liked was the 'slant front in a strait box' thing that Mesa does.

If we're talking a half stack, I prefer a slant only because the two spkrs pointing up allow me to hear the sound better. I'm usually playing on small stages, so I can't get very far out in front to hear a straight cab very effectively.
