Hey dude I have that guitar, I also use it for shred purposes. But it's really hard to brighten that baby up in the bridge
I'm not the biggest fan of shred. The techniques used and the sound are the things that impress me, but most shredders don't seem to know how to combine these elements. The ones that can, are called virtuosos and defenitely deserve that name.
The easiest way for me to shred, is the easiest way for me to play everything else. I need a rounded, medium-thin neck, but wide, with a flatter fretboard radius. Scallopped frets would be define but 6100 Jumbo fretwire is excellent too! The JPM Petrucci neck is excellent for this kinda stuff, but it's raising price every year! As mentioned in another topic, I don't like strat shapes too much. Explorers and Les Pauls I prefer, but it's very hard to find a neck like that on a body shape like these! :smack:
Yes shredding is about the player, but the player's worthless without the guitar, especially the wrong one!
