Re: what do you think about this one ?
I think it's pretty rad,go with it if you like it. :headbang:
I thought that many metal guitars that are/were made with alder and maple because they sounds balanced and tight, and you always can add some bass from your amp (that's what EQs on your amp are for, right? :naughty

.
And you'll be safe if you're going to drop tuned very low (ie to low A) because those woods compensate really well for the lows.
If you're going to drop tuned with mahogany guitars which already had abundant low and low mids,it's a bit hard to balance the low if you're going to drop tune. You'll need very bright pickups like SD Full Shred,Jazz,Dimarzio Evo,Bill Lawrence L-500XL etc, except you're going to use EMG 81 that is.
But if you're just want that V to be in standard tuning or just drop D,there's always Duncan Custom,Distortion and Invader to balance that brightness in your guitar.
Sorry for the rambling though, because I see your avatar and Dimebag used many drop tuning in his playing so I guess I just give you some thought about it.
One thing to consider when you play a V,check if it has good balance between neck and body in standing position.
I was this close to buy my buddy's Jackson Rhoads V,and when I tried it in standing position I could never make it balance well,so I passed that chance. Too bad as it was very well built guitar
Enough for rambling, good luck with your search and keep us posted!!
