What do you think of these guitar shapes?

Re: What do you think of these guitar shapes?

Here it is overlayed on the original smooth back version with a compound curve in the upper bout instead of a single radius in the post above.

I like both designs but I think the 1st design looks more Gothic while the 2nd one looks more Classic.

I prefer the look of the original horn

Re: What do you think of these guitar shapes?

The large horn of the original was kind of cool, but something was off about it.

Just for fun, I took a second and tweaked your original design again, using a larger horn, but trying to balance the whole thing out a little better.

See what you think...

You can see the minor changes I made overlayed on the original here:

I tried to enhance the "waisted" appearance slightly without actually thinning it out in that area.

I also added some extra mass to the body radius to balance that end better with the bigger horn and pronounced top bout.

Very subtle changes overall.

That looks pretty good. It's amazing how much different they look even after very minor changes. There's not much room out there for a true original shape but this shape will have a lot of stuff I like as far as comfort standing, play well while seated and at least be somewhat unique looking. Hopefully it turns out to be a more classic eye pleasing guitar with just enough extra to not be so classic that it's dull looking. I guess my next step is to glue up a body and see where the contour cuts and weight relief needs to be done. This is supposed to be a big body to look more correct in proportion to a large player, probably in the 23" long range total so I'll have to Swiss cheese it or chamber it or it'll be a brick.

Reminds me of the Neal Schon model...Jackson did it, I think.

Well this is new for 2017 I think.

All it really needs is some light carving and it'll be pretty much what I want. Kind of a bummer but also kind of exciting.

You better sketch over that...I don't think you're going to like the final proportions and size if you plan on buying and modifying that particular guitar
