Cool edit pro and the mic input in my soundcard.

Cool edit is a pretty good program as far as i know...does what i want it for.

That's the same setup I have.

Re: What do YOU use to record???

I used to use a Fostex VF-16 but now I'm running Protools into a G5. I have quite a few rack pieces that I use in pre and post.

Re: What do YOU use to record???

What are you guys using for monitors? My old Tannoys need to be replaceed for serious monitoring. I am looking at the Behringer Truth series and the M-Audio BX8s. I saw Alesis has some monitors right in that same area but Alesis quality is totally hit or miss. My budget is $500 area so any suggestions would be great.

***EDIT***
Ended up getting the BX8 monitors but a 5" or 6" driver might serve me better, the *" drivers have somwhat unrealisticbass performance compared to most playback systems for final mixes.

Tascam US-122 USB MIDI/Audio Interface
Digital Reference (A line from Audio Technica, I think) DR-GX1 mic
Behringer UB802 Mixer
Or my other option is a Behringer V-Amp Pro.

Re: What do YOU use to record???

SM-58 mic, Tascam Porta-07 4-track as a mixer for quick clips, to the soundcard and Cool Edit on the PC. I'm messing with Krystal Audio but having issues with it. Can't get rid of the dang delay, even with recommended driver to get rid of it. :smack:

Re: What do YOU use to record???

Cubase SX3, GrooveTube Pre's, RME converters, Marshall, Fender amps, PRS guitars

Re: What do YOU use to record???

To record I use my 10W solid state amp plugged into the closest outlet and I stretch out my internet chat microphone to the amp and record it to the Sound Recorder program :laugh2:

Re: What do YOU use to record???

I use a SM57 to close mic my amp and a Rode NT1-A a bit further back. They go into a cheap behringer mixer and into my sound card. I use Adobe Audition too... I think its pretty good.
