what duncan would have the tone of a DD but lower output?

Re: what duncan would have the tone of a DD but lower output?

PG and PG+ have growl and sizzle for days, but I'm not sure how they would compare to the DD (never played a Distortion).

I have never played a distortion either, but you might try putting a regular sized ceramic mag in there instead of the oversized one. That might cool things down a bit. Good luck!

How did the Custom with a big magnet compare to the DD?

Re: what duncan would have the tone of a DD but lower output?

the perfact solution would be the jb.....its the exact same pickup as the dd only with a alnico 5 magnet, so therefore it will have sizzle, but not as crunchy as the dd, and it cleans up good too
