What Effect Am I Hearing (clips)

[Falstaff]

Here are three very short clips and I was wondering if someone could help me out with what sort of effect is on the guitar. Is it some sort of Univibe? Chorus? I know we can't know exactly what it is but I would appreciate it if anyone could share insight into what kind of pedal it might be.

sounds like a chorus, kinda makes me think of Alex Lifeson with that sound.

It's tough to pin it down to the exact unit, But I'd say it's chorus w/t
the modulation set around mid way? :scratchch

I definitely thought I heard some 'vibe in there, but it definitely leans more to the chorus side of modulation effects. It's a nice sounding effect for sure, sounds like the speed is turned up a little past halfway with depth and level at maybe a little below half?
Don't have a clue what the make is.

i can allmost emulate that sound with my strat with the pups turned way to the treble side of the tone nob......

the sound allmosts sounds watery that sound from the clips....

Matt - sorry for the delay in my post. That sound is so similar to tones from the early Connells, Bodeans, and Dillon Fence albums that came out in the late '80's / early '90's.

I really like that effect from that era of music - I think it is a stomp box Chorus pedal of some sort. Perhaps one of the Boss pedals from around 1990? I don't think it is a Univibe. Also, was the Mooger Fooger around in the early '90's? Isn't that a Ring Modulator? Perhaps that is the effect. I haven't had direct access to that pedal, but have heard it on several albums.

Honestly, I've never been able to duplicate that effect, so I'm not real sure what is going on there. Who is the band and what year was the album done? Perhaps that can help us narrow the search.

The band was Gun Club and the album came out around 1992, I guess. You hit the date on the head.

The guy is dead and unfortunately there is precious little info about his guitar stuff on the web. Maybe I'll try to dig around a bit more.

To me that sounds like a very subtle Phasing effect. I could be wrong (most likely ) But thats what I can hear in that clip.

I don't have much experience with a Phaser, but that could have done the trick (in conjunction with a Chorus Pedal).
