What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

Interest in your opinions & experiences.

I have just got a Holy Grail Reverb as my new amp doesn't have inbuilt reverb. It's only my second adventure away from the Boss range and I'm quite impressed.

Doddle to use but who ever came up with Flerb should be taken out the back on shot:firing:

Now looking at a big muff but not sure which one to go for.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

oddly i never found their stuff too exciting... but i would love to try one of their flanger type fx's

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

I really liked the Holy Grail the Memory Man with Hazarai seems very interesting altough I had little time to play with one.

I tried some Big Muffs and end up buying a little big muff got sick of it after a few months, I'm not saying it's bad, maybe it just isn't for me.
I could not get a subtle fuzz sound out of it, the only way I could get it to sound decent was in a stereo rig and even then meh.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

I have been using a Big Muff Pi for over a year as my main source of distortion. It is, imo, an amazing pedal. It's very vintage, full, and tonefull.

Stick a overdrive in front of it, and it will rock your world. On it's own, it does exactly what you would think : The classic muff sound with sustain for days.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

Big Muff (Russian) and Small Stones phaser are both on my board. Love them both!

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

big muff

and POG soon, hopefully

and yeah, everytime i've ventured away from boss i've liked the result better

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

Oh yeah, and if you are looking for a Big Muff, from what I have observed, the American one is not as versitle and sounds more vintage, and the russian one will get more distorted tones and less muffy, with a more modern sound.

I do like the overall tone of the american one though, as it seems to be fuller and more authentic to what I think the muff/fuzzbox sound should be.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

I love EHx! Probably my favorite effects manufacturer. I've got the Small Stone, Small Clone, Deluxe Electric Mistress, Deluxe Memory Man, POG, Frequency Analyzer and a vintage Big Muff, not to mention WAY too many fuzzes based on the Muff circuitry. I'd love to get a Flanger Hoax, Poly Chorus DMWH, one of the Grails and I always am looking at the HOG, but I think I'd have to get rid of the POG to justify that. lol Anyway, I love them all, the Small Clone and Small Stone are simple but effective pedals, and I think the Nano line is an improvement over both. The flanger and delay are classic tones, the ring mod is the most useful ring mod I've used and I really love the Muff sound, although I think others have improved on the Muff...

Anyway, good stuff. :) I also like how they continually are coming out with new stuff, unlike a lot of the other big manufacturers.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

ive recently bought a stereo memory man with hazarai

lovely features, very versatile.... but i feel its a little bit fragile, like youve got to really look out not to break it

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

If you like envelope filters, the Q Tron is an amazingly fun pedal. I wish I had mine back.
First, I bought a Mutron, but found that I liked the Q Tron even more.....and it's cheaper.

Since hardly anyone can afford the incredible Lovetone Meatball, the Q Tron is a good contender.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

PFDarkside I think you are an addict and you should offload some of your pedals to me:)

I watched the video demo to this one looked really cool, I have my eye on a mini Q-tron and a micro Q-tron on Evilbay any ideas what the difference is?

I've got a POG and a vintage Electric Mistress that are on my board.

Tell me what an Electronic Mistress is as its name sounds fantastic

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

I have had (and do have) as well as used (and do use) a goo dbit of EH stuff, mostly the older stuff but their new stuff is great too...The Small Stone is a classic phaser, the Electric Mistress and Deluxe Electric Mistress is a classic as well, the Small Clone is a great chorus the Deluxe Memory Man (and to a slightly lesser degree the Memory Man) is one of the best analog delay pedals EVER...still!!! Past those there are loads of killer boxes, I;ve never found a Big Muff I didn't like...they are all a little different but all still good the Bad Stone phaser was pretty cool, the CLone Theory was great the QTron is a great toy/tool...too much stuff to list and I like it all. I even like this newest (non bent sheet metal box) Eh stuff...Mike and crew have always done grreat boxes!

The (Deluxe) Electric Mistress is a Flanger pedal...IMHO there are 3 classic flangers, the MXR AC powered flanger, the old AD/A flanger and the EH Deluxe Electric Mistress...for the tone of the Electric Mistress think Andy Summers or David Gilmour...both used one quite a bit...

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

Small stone nano-- it resides on my board next to a phaser that is 4 times its cost.

Been looking to try an electric mistress, too, but my local shops are out.

I've looked at their pedals time and time again but never bought one simply because hte majority of them (the ones I am interested in) are giant and have the unique power supply and require giant wall-warts. Definitely a no-no for a gigging musician...

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

i just happen to love something about this pedals and im not sure enough why...

anyone tried the graphic fuzz? i had my eye on that one since forever.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

I've got a Russian-made Big Muff, and I much prefer it as a bass distortion rather than for guitar. To me, it just sounds way too compressed with guitar, or maybe that's just fuzzes in general, but it works wonders for bass.

Re: What Electro Harmonix Pedals Do You Use

Holy grail - love it!

Also had a friend with a Metal Muff - excellent pedal!!!

Possibly. ;) It seems Christian and I have similar taste. Maybe my addiction is worse and his collection is better. :D

Just something about them, I love the pedals they make.
