What fuzz do I want?

Re: What fuzz do I want?

If you want to delve deeeeeeeeeeep, watch this and then start thinking about which clone direction you would want to go.

Re: What fuzz do I want?

The Behringer just came in and its pretty close. A little too much gain and a little too little scrambly octave chaos, but otherwise pretty damn close. Heres a quick test…

Re: What fuzz do I want?

wow that sounds wicked as well! that playing reminds me of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats:

Re: What fuzz do I want?

Yeah that song does have an Uncle Acid vibe to it. I honestly can't remember if I wrote it before or after I saw them recently, I'll have to check the files.

Re: What fuzz do I want?

I don't know what the fz2 was based on, if anything. It is an octavy muddle though....sounds great with bass.

Glad it got you a little closer though. Fender Blender or Ampeg Scrambler maybe?

Re: What fuzz do I want?

Not sure if it would work for you, but the EHX Satisfaction blew me away when I tried it...it was exactly what I've been looking for--perfect for the classic rock/oldie covers I do. I'm going to check out a couple of others, but this one is at the top of my list at the moment. And for the money, this one has to rate as a "Best Buy".

Re: What fuzz do I want?

I use a Wampler Velvet Fuzz. I can't say enough great stuff about this pedal. Hands down the cleanest, tightest high-fidelity fuzz I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Range of the pedal will literally give you hot metal all the way to southern rock overdrive and all in between. I still find settings that are mindblowing depending on where I play (room type, size, acoustics, etc.). For the price point/band for buck I really like Brian's stuff. It's built like a tank and takes my abuse easily. Very dependable and very dynamic. Try one out and let me know what you think. There is no affiliation with Wampler pedals, just like the things. Keep on jammin'!

Re: What fuzz do I want?

yay! :) I have seen crowbar live in San Antonio, they rule! while we are on the uncle acid subject I figured I betta throw in some bigelf for good measure:

Re: What fuzz do I want?

I'm not sure why I've never heard of them before, but I will promptly be checking them out in-depth.
